HYALURONIC ACID (DERMAL FILLER)

Hyaluronic acid fillers are injectable substances made from a synthetic version of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body. These fillers are used to restore volume, enhance facial contours, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. 

Treatment results can last up to 6-18 months.  We use only Health Canada approved products. 

Some potential side effects or complications can include:

• bruising or redness at the site of injection
• temporary swelling 
• self limited pain/tenderness 
• lump formation 

**Serious but rare side effects include: delayed onset infections, recurrence or herpetic eruptions, and superficial necrosis at the injection site. The risk of unintentional injection into a blood vessel is small but can occur and could result in serious complications. This may be permanent and include: vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, temporary scabs, or permanent scarring of the skin.
